The Dos Palos Oro Loma Joint Unified School District Child Nutrition Program is organized with the primary responsibility of serving wholesome and nutritious meals to students. We have an annual agreement with the State and Federal Governments to participate in the National School Lunch Program. Participation in this program qualifies us for state and federal reimbursements as well as commodity foods. This allows the price of student lunches to be set below the actual cost of producing these meals.

The district has five self-contained kitchens and two satellite kitchens that prepare breakfast and lunch, offer after school snacks and have daily snack bar sales at each site. We use menus, which meets the nutrient standards required by the Healthy Meals For Americans Act of 1994. We use the Nutrient Standard Menu Planning System (NSMP) approach to meet the nutrition goals. Instead of working with specific food components in specific amounts, we work with menu items and use nutrient analysis averaged over a school week to make sure students are receiving the appropriate RDA's.

Breakfast

Pre School through 8th grade $.25 for full price and $.10 for reduced price.

DPHS and Westside High School $.50 for full price and $.30 for reduced.

Lunch

Pre school through the 8th grade are $.75 for full price and $.40 for reduced.

DPHS and Westside students pay $1.10 for full price lunches and $.40 for the reduced.

Lunch applications are sent out during the first week of school. You may request a lunch application anytime during the year if your wage or household status change. Lunch applications may be picked up at the front office at all of the site except the DPHS. They can be picked up in the Attendance office or you may contact my office at 392-2106 for further assistance.
