Mr. Greg Hammer was born in Billings, Montana and he grew up in San Bernardino, California. Mr. Hammer went to the Univ. of Colorado Boulder, and Florida Sate Univ. His degree is English, Mr. Hammer said that he has worked outside of education as a cook through high school. Dept. Manager of Lawn and Garden at Wal-Mart, and as Assist. Manager of Subway for one year. He started teaching in 1997 at Florida State Univ., and he started teaching here at Dos Palos in 2004. Mr. Hammer said he got involved in teaching because he enjoys being able to influence young people and as a way of continuing his own education through life. We asked Mr. Hammer, if he could teach a different subject what subject would it be and he said the History or Computer Technology. Greg Hammer said that he likes students that are motivated to learn, willing to listen, and who keep open an mind to new ideas. He also like students who take responsibility for their own education. He doesn't like having to continually convince students that education is extremely important. Mr. Hammer's advice for students is to realize that life is an educational process which will teach many things whether you're willing to learn or not. Mr. Hammer's Life Verse or Motto is " The only good is knowledge and the evil is ignorance." Mr. Hammer entire family lives out in the West and he is happy to be back in California. Mr. Hammer thought that it would be interesting for people to know that he is a life long San Francisco Giants Fan and he doesn't have a dog!
