Mr. Von Allman was born in Merced, California and grew up in Dos Palos. He is a hometown boy who graduated from Dos Palos High School. His college years were spent attending University of California, Davis right out of High School and after two years he transferred to CSU Fresno. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with an option in pre-law. Outside of education he has worked many jobs over the years. In 1993 he started coaching baseball and 5 years later in 1998 he began teaching in Dos Palos. Mr. Vonallman got involved in teaching through coaching. He enjoyed being around youth so much that he decided to go into education; he said it was a natural progression. He says that he really enjoys the subject that he teaches (special education) because it is not a single subject environment and you get to enjoy many areas of teaching. Mr. Vonallman likes to be around young adults and he dislikes the fact that students today are lacking motivation towards their education/extra-curricular activities. His advice for students "Take your education serious; it is the only thing the will help you get paid later in life.
