Mrs. Calvert was born in Patterson, California and grew up in Oro Loma. Mrs. Calvert graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1993. Mrs. Calvert went first to a community college in San Luis Obispo and in Merced. Then she went to CSU in Stanislaus where she graduated in 1997. She got her teaching credential from Chapman University. Mrs Calvert degree was Liberal Studies. Mrs Calvert has worked at a western supply store and as a night time library tutor here at DPHS,while she was going to college. Mrs. Calvert started teaching and working in education in 1998. She began teaching 6th grade at Bryant and then she started to work at DPHS in 2000.
Mrs. Calvert always wanted a job that she could really enjoy, she always wanted to work with young people. She says it's a good job for her because she has the same hours and vacations as her kids while they are in school, that way she can spend her free time with them. Mrs. Calvert said that she really loves teaching English, but she wouldn't mind teaching P.E or Elementary School one day. She loves teaching high school students because she gets to have a positive influence on students and their future. Her advice for all students is to get an extended education. Mrs. Calvert says that if you have her for a class she will be always saying "Make good choices" Mrs. Calvert said that she loves her family,husband,and kids they are the center of her life she loves them with all her heart
