This course is designed to introduce keyboarding skills on the computer and then computer applications using Microsoft Office 2003. The content of the course will include proper keyboarding fundamentals, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and multimedia presentations.
This advanced course is designed to familiarize the student with the Internet and components of telecommunication. As well and provide instruction in building and designing web pages. Students learn how to use e-mail, use the Internet. Students build their own web pages. Students learn about 3d design and Graphic creation and manipulation and create power point demonstrations.

Students will advance in the areas of Graphics through programs such as Adobe Photoshop. They will learn to create their own graphics, animation’s, and textures. The program includes related instruction and hands-on applications in basic electronics, personal microcomputers, operating systems, and networks. Students will set up, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and service personal computers. Students will become familiar with networking and the implementation of networks in an organization, using Microsoft Family networking solutions. Integrated throughout the course are the Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS), which include communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, safety, technology, and other employment skills. Academic skills in math, science, and English are integrated and applied throughout the course.
The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a partnership between Cisco Systems, education, business, government, and community organizations around the world. The Networking Academy Curriculum centers on teaching students to design, build, and maintain computer networks. The Program prepares students for the 21st Century workplace, while serving as a valuable model for e-learning.
Marketing Occupations 1 & 2A two-period class designed to give students highly individualized instruction in one of the three fields of Marketing. Retail Merchandising prepares students for entry-level jobs in sales and cash register operations. Restaurant/Foods prepares students for entry-level jobs in food preparation, waiter/waitress or short-order cooking. Warehouse Distribution prepares students for entry-level jobs in shipping/receiving, stocking/sorting merchandise, and inventory procedures. Most training will be at various businesses located within the community. Certified by the Department of Education as a "Program of Excellence". This is a 2+2 class, which means, if you complete this class with an A or B, you will receive both high school and college credit if you enter Merced College.
Career Planning (JCG) JCG is a non profit public service program designed to assist high school students through graduation and into the world of work. Merced County works hand-in-hand with the school system in helping to prepare students to become well-adjusted employable citizens. This is a one period class
Business Occupations I & II A two period course designed to provide specific office skills. Students will learn through on-campus classes and off campus placement in a local business office where additional training and hands-on experience will be received. Students will be placed at a work site four days weekly and attend an on-campus class once a week. Although the off-campus assignments are for school credit only, the possibility of receiving a paid part-time job is real. This is a 2+2 class, which means, if you complete this class with an A or B, you will receive both high school and college credit if you enter Merced College.
Graphic Arts Occupations I & II The Graphic Arts program is designed for any student with an interest in pursuing a career in the advertising and printing industry. You will have the opportunity to learn the basic principles of layout and design, film developing and operation of a printing press. Projects include hands-on applications such as stationary, business cards, newspaper ads, brochures, tickets and printing of the school newspaper. This course provides background for employment or continuation in a college program. This is a 2 + 2 class, which means if you complete this class with an A or B, you will receive both high school and college credit if you enter Modesto or Delta College. This is a two period class.
