Lesson 3.3: Using Parameter Queries

   

 

 

Like other types of queries, parameter queries need to be configured before they are run. To start, you will need to create a query (crosstab or select). Then, open that query in design mode from the database window.

 

 

Next, make sure the fields you need are in the design grid (the spreadsheet part).If they’re not, you can drag them from the field list to the design grid.

 

Now, find the field you want to use and click the Criteria cell in the design grid. Here’s where you will type the prompt, enclosed in square brackets.

 

 

Now, save your query; you’ll probably want to use a different name. Your parameter query is complete!
