Once you have done the work you need to do, closing Access is a snap. Click File à Exit to close Access.
When you close Access, or indeed when you perform most actions in Access, your work is saved automatically. But if Access does prompt you to save any changes, say if you were editing a form at the time, click Yes or No to save or discard your changes, or click Cancel to keep Access open. You can also close Access by clicking the red X on the title bar.
