Text Box: High school students hosted league talent show on Thursday the February 21st. There was talent from all over: towns like Mendota, Tranquility, and Firebaugh attended this show bringing a lot of talent to the town of Dos Palos. Some Dos Palos students did a good job showing lots of talent. One of those was senior student Jasmine Pena. She sang Alisha Keys hit song “No One.” She dedicated that song to her fellow classmates Class of “08.” She placed 1st in the first talent show at Dos Palos High talent show. The other schools also brought great talent and competition to Dos Palos High for the League talent show. One student from Firebaugh sang a Johnny Cash song. Another girl from Mendota danced to Ciara. But, over all the performances were great and the talent show was a great success.

Text Box: Throughout the years DPHS students have been limited to the books in the LRC for AR (Accelerated Reader) points, but now your not. Thanks to the AR book finder on the LRC link page, you can make a list of the books you want to read and check to see if they have AR points. Once you check and find out, you can then look in the LRC for the book, look at the county library or even buy the book from Barnes & Nobles for your own keeping. When asked what she thought about the new AR book finder Kayla Titterington stated, “It’s cool. You can now read a whole book and there will be an AR test for it.” “Yes, I like it because it’s a lot easier to find books with AR points and they’re great to read,” stated Cecili Owens. Now whenever you find that great book to read, you can go straight to AR book finder on the LRC link page to whether it has AR points or not.
