W.E.C is World Extreme Cage Fighting. W.E.C is a type of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).W.E.C is the worlds leading MMA sports organization, formed on June 30, 2001. With a history of exciting MMA events and a record of 23 straight sell out crowds. The W.E.C has proven itself to be the premier fighting event in MMA. The W.E.C features a strong ownership and a depth of management experience across a spectrum of live event sports, television production and ancillary business development. The W.E.C.  is positioned well for the future as the standard for the evolving and exciting sport of MMA.

My favorite fighter from the W.E.C would have to be Urijah Faber “California Kid”, he’s a featherweight champion. He was born in California, also fighting out of Sacramento, California. Urijah Faber is 28 years old with the height of 5’6 and weight of 145lbs. His overall MMA record is 20 wins and 1 loss, “California Kid” strengths are: excellent submissions, strong talked, and lightning fast hand speed. There are many more great fighters in MMA, so you should check them out sometime.

The Fowler Baseball Tournament!

On Saturday as well as Monday and Tuesday was the Fowler Easter Classic Tournament. The first team the Broncos played were the Caruthers Blue Raiders. That game was a hard fought game but resulted in a tie, which gave each team one point in pool play. Then on Monday the Broncos played two games; the first one was against Kingsburg and the second was against Monte Vista a team from Watsonville. The first game against Kingsburg was won 4 to 3 in favor of the Broncos, the second game against Monte Vista was lost 8 to 0. On Tuesday, the Broncos went up against Dinuba for fifth place overall in the tournament. Broncos ended up winning 12 to 10.

Dos Palos High School is starting the new track team this fall. There are a lot more students participating this year. Some students include: Justine Berry, Ayron Cooley, Adam Duran, and Henry Zeladon. The track coach is Ms. Pigg.  I interviewed two students from the track team: Justine Berry and Ayron Cooley. I asked them about the team and who they think is the best runner and high jumper. Justine responded with “I think Cameron Moore is the best high jumper.” Ayron responded with “ I also think that our best runner is Cameron Moore,” When I interviewed Ms. Pigg  I asked her about why she wanted to be the track coach , has the track team improved since last year, and have they won any track meets. When I asked her why she wanted to be the track coach she responded with “I wanted to be the track coach because I love the kids and I love track.” She also commented on whether not the track team has improved since last year and have they won any track meets. She responded with, “Yes it has.” And “Yes we’ve won the Gorge Olsin and Coalinga.” The track team’s next track meet wills next March 26 in Firebaugh.     .
