On November 30, 2020, the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (“Cal OSHA”) adopted new workplace protocols and procedures that provide employers with more comprehensive guidelines to enforce or modify existing safety rules to COVID-19 adequately. The new requirements include, but are not limited to, an employer’s obligation to implement an effective COVID-19 prevention program. The 2020-21 DPOL COVID-19 Prevention Plan includes the requirements from the California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 8, Sections 3205, 3205.1, 3205.2, 3205.3, and 3205.4.
In addition, all employees must DAILY self-attest they are free of COVID-19 symptoms. (Must be submitted daily before the start of each shift.)
